This painting explores the graphic simplification of the wild coastline around the Hartland Point lighthouse in North Devon, England. The point marks the western limit (on the English side) of the Bristol Channel with the Atlantic Ocean continuing to the west. The painting is a visual amalgamation of memories and feelings from visiting various points around this wild and windy peninsula, represented by a strong graphic narrative that threads its way through most of my work.

The more you look, the more you see. I want each painting to take me somewhere different; somewhere I hadn’t planned to be.
