“Ebb and flow” is part of my “natural tapestry” series of paintings which unearth and deconstruct the myriad of pattern, shape, colour and texture in the awe-inspiring cliffs and coastline of North Devon. As the tide recedes, a canvas of sand, punctuated by intricate rock pools and rugged stones, unveils itself. This piece is a visual amalgamation of memories and feelings from one or many of the far-reaching vantage points on this dramatic coastal path, with a strong graphic narrative that threads its way through most of my work.
 
The more you look, the more you see. I want each painting to take me somewhere different; somewhere I hadn’t planned to be.
