“Between the Hedgerows” is part of my natural tapestry series of paintings which unearth and deconstruct the myriad of pattern, shape, colour and texture in the landscapes around the South Downs. This piece is a visual amalgamation of memories and feelings from one or many of these far-reaching viewpoints, with a strong graphic narrative that threads its way through most of my work.

The more you look, the more you see. I want each painting to take me somewhere different; somewhere I hadn’t planned to be.
